baby burd- 11 months

Presley turned 11 months old and celebrated her first Halloween! Her vocabulary is growing, her new words include doggie, baby, and balloon. None of which are probably understandable to the untrained ear : ) She understands the word no and will shake her head "no no." She can now stand hands free and has taken up to 3 steps at a time. We had a lot of fun this month starting some new family traditions...

 

 Presley' first trip to the pumpkin patch! She had a blast visiting the petting zoo and picking out her very own baby sized pumpkin.

 

Went trick-or-treating! For her first Halloween we dressed up as family, Ryan and I were a Red Wings players and Presley was Al the Octopus aka the Wing's mascot. She would have looked cute in any costume but doesn't sne just look extra squeezable in this get up?

 

 My girl loves to "read" and I love it! She'll flip thru her books pointing at all the pictures. She especially loves books with textured photos.

 

This was her daytime Halloween outfit. Why does she look 16 in this picture?! 

baby burd- 10 months

 

Time seriously needs to SLOW DOWN! This girl is growing way too fast for my liking. While I'm loving watching her grow and learn new tricks, I am also missing my little snuggly baby. At 10 months old Presley's newest tricks are clapping and waving bye-bye. She is also scaling across furniture, this girl wants to go! She is eating mostly table food now, her favorites are anything with cheese and avocado. And she's got 4 pearly whites helping to chomp up all that food. Poor Pres got the worst of both mommy and daddy's future dental needs. Her two front teeth are big (like mine) with a gap in between (like ryan's). Braces are definitely in her future!

baby burd- 9 months

My girl is 9 months old! I feel like this past month she has really started growing out of the baby stage and is becoming a little girl. It's such a bitter sweet feeling. I am loving all the new tricks she's learning but at the same time I want her to SLOW DOWN! I often look back at pictures from her first few days and I can't believe she was ever that little. And as tiring and learning that first stage was, I miss it. But on the other hand, we are having a great time with our girl! She is so fun at this stage. Her personality is so happy and playful, this little girl is rarely seen without a smile on her face (which makes for lots of great photo ops).

 

At 9 months old Presley is 28in. long (50th percentile) and weighs 18.4lbs (25th percentile). We've got a skinny little bean on our hands!

 

 

Presley was a flower girl at her very first wedding! She rode down the aisle in a wagon at Uncle Bradley & Tita Lisa's wedding this summer.

 

 

She had her first beach trip in San Diego... and loved it! She played with the sand and anything else she could get her hands on.

 

 

A couple weeks before her 9 month birthday, Pres finally got her first tooth!

 

 

We have also started to introduce table foods! So far she's loving all her favorite baby foods but in solid form, and puffs! That one tooth sure is putting in alot of work ; )

 

 

She's got a new trick... this face! It starts with her scrunching her nose and inhaling really hard, and she just plays it up! She loves the reaction she gets from people when she does this face. It's pretty rediculous, but oh so cute!

 

 

And the biggest milestone this month... She stands! I walked in her room when she got up from her nap and opened the door to find this! Totally proud of herself like "hey mom, what's up?"

 

 

 

 and since then, there's no stopping her!

 

 

 

 

baby burd- 8 months

This girl sure is enjoying her summer! This past month Presley has...

celebrated her first Independence Day!

Spent many days in the pool

got her very own big girl swing. And loves it!

Spent a weekend with daddy while mama was away. This also meant a weekend of NO headbands!

Got the party started

and found out blondes do have more fun : )

In the midst of all the fun she is also saying mama, dada and shakes her head "no no." She is crawling at super fast speeds, and loving her baby food!

baby burd- 7 months!

By the looks of the smile from the photo above, we are going to be in big trouble with this little one. Already learning to flirt for the camera, and let me tell you, a flirt she is! She is notorious for giving the biggest, cheesiest grins to all daddy's friends, then instantly digging her head into my shoulder as if she's shy and bashful. Such a lady!

We started doing pony tails, and are they not the cutest little pony you've ever seen?! Presley's little bald spot finally filled back in too : )

Presley said her first word, and it was... "mama"!

We officially have a crawler, and there is no slowing this girl down!

Doesn't that face just make you melt? And yes, that is a puddle of drool : )

Presley's half birthday!

I know I say this every month, but I seriously cannot believe how quickly time has gone. We have a 6 month old girl on our hands! This past month has been so much fun as I feel like she has accomplished so many milestones. First things first, Pres had her 6 month well visit which consisted of shots (boo) and stats. Our playful girl is growing!

length 26 in. (50th percentile)

She has dropped from the 75th percentile to the 50th but according to the doctor that is normal because she is becoming more active and essentially getting more exercise. More active is definitely right! Although she's not crawling yet I suspect we will be getting there soon. This girl wants to go! For now she is spinning herself around and bouncing like crazy in her jumper!

Her new favorite trick is blowing bubbles. She thinks it's hilarious!

We started solids this month! So far she has LOVED everything. We've tried carrots, bananas and she even likes peas!

Although this pic doesn't look like she's enjoying it, trust me she was reaching over with her mouth open quicker than I could get another spoonful

Another great milestone we've reached is that she sits! She just mastered this over the past couple days and is still a little wobbly but for the most part she's got the balancing act down!

And this is nothing new but it surprises me month after month. This kid LOVES to sleep. Thank god! Her new sleeping schedule is as follows:

wakes up 830-9 AM

naps 11-130 PM

naps again (sometimes) 430-6 PM

bedtime 730PM

So yes, you read that right, she sleeps through the night for 13 HOURS! That makes for one happy baby and a very very very happy mama!

We love this little girl so much and are so proud to be her parents.

 She has been nothing short of amazing.



baby burd- 5 months

Time has gone by far too quickly and we have a 5 month old growing girl full of personality!

We have experienced so many great milestones this month!

 Presley celebrated her first Easter! She loved her goodies from the Easter bunny!

 She tried rice cereal for the first time...

...and liked it!

 She has become a professional bottle holder, thus making daddy's babysitting nights a breeze!

She has outgrown old toys...

...and is loving her new "big girl" toys!

We are officially out of the swaddle! These days she sleeps with a (breathable) blanket

She is VERY interested in  the doggies. Especially Fink, he's her buddy : )

And probably the biggest milestone to date... we have a roller! Presley started rolling from back to belly! I am so proud of my girl!
