Sharing the big news!

This week was jam packed with all things baby. I had a doctor's appointment where Ry and I got to hear the little bean's heart beat! It was such an amazing experience! As great as it was for me to hear an actual heart beat I think it was even more so awing for Ryan. For him to be able to put a picture and sound of an actual living, growing thing was life changing.

This week we also shared the big news with our families. We took Lori and Chuck (Ryan's mom and step-dad) out for Lori's bday. Looking back now, we probably should have broken this life changing news in a more private place. I anticipated excitement, but I didn't anticipate how overwhelmed we would ALL be. Lori opened her birthday card that read something along the lines of "Happy Birthday Grandma" after what seemed like the longest thirty seconds of lost and confusion, she got it. Tears all around the table followed soon after. It was such a heartwarming feeling. Needless to say the remainder of our dinner conversation was pretty focused on all things baby. The next day Ryan called his family in the east coast. Equal excitement was shared through the phone.

A couple days later we went to dinner with my dad and Frankie. While Frankie already knew, and can't wait for my baby to address her as tita Harry Potter, this dinner was about breaking the news to my dad. His response was pretty comical. His initial reaction, which Ryan totally called, was his famous "eyes wide open, chin dropping face" followed by, "I'm not old enough to be a grandfather."

The following weekend, Frankie and I met tita Framie and tita Grace for dinner. As soon as I told them tita Grace was initially excited, tita Framie on the other hand thought I was "April foolsing" them. Her reaction was hilarious, she seriously thought I was joking around. It took a minute convincing her that I was, in fact, pregnant. She was ecstatic!

It was a great experience sharing this news with all our family and friends. Everyone seems as excited as we are for this next chapter in all our lives. This little bean is so loved already, what a lucky baby burd.
