baby burd- 10 weeks

I became 10 weeks pregnant yesterday on Ryan's 31st birthday! We celebrated our new daddy with gifts, cards, dinner and birthday cake. He had a full day of doing whatever he wanted, which consisted mostly of a little bit of lounging and a little bit of garage time.

The last few weeks have been full of feeling pregnant so I've decided to write about the changes and symptoms I have through the different stages of this pregnancy.

First things first, the term "morning sickness" is a crock! I'm coining the new term "all-day sickness". Most days I feel nauseous from my first meal of the day until I toss and turn falling asleep at night. The upside is, I have yet to barf-a-roni. While the constant nausea and gagging is annoying, I'm still able to function throughout my day. Snacking regularly and sucking on preggie pops at work help me along the way. I know some mamas-to-be spend their days hovering the toilet so if this is the worst it gets, I'll gladly deal with it for a couple more weeks.

While the scale at home shows I've only gained 1lb. since being preg, I've definitely noticed changes in my body. My pants are starting to feel a wee bit snug and at times my lower abdomen area feels rock hard. I imagine it's my uterus starting to push outward. Ryan is a smart, smart man and assures me I do not look any different yet. Even if that's true I have a feeling things will be changing very soon. I think we will also start posting the ever-so-popular "bump watch" pictures soon so look forward to those!

Lastly, Ryan and I have been fixed over the sex of the baby. We seriously cannot wait to find out if we've got a little hockey star or tiny dancer in there : ) My doc says he's usually able to tell the gender by 14 weeks. So if baby burd is cooperative we'll be able to find out at our 15 week appointment. Until then, and just for fun, I want to do the intelligender pee test. I've seen quite a few ladies that have taken the pee test and got acurate results. I'll definitely keep you posted when I do that!
